Here are the characteristics of the machine;
1. The Prometheus 100 (or "Ravi Raj 100") consists of 100 reflectors arranged in 10 straight rows with 10 reflectors each.
2. Each reflector has size of 30 cm x 30 cm, so total reflection area of 100 reflectors is 9 sq. meters.
3. Each reflector has 9 glass mirrors of 10 cm x 10 cm which are simply glued together on a very cheap plaster of Paris mold.
4. All 100 reflectors can be focused by a simple manual tracking device: all rows controlled by cable and hand wheel.
5. Entire structure supporting reflectors is inclined 10 degree from horizontal and can be rotated by hand on vertical axis to face the sun wherever it is in the sky.
6. Focal point is permanently fixed relative to the ground and does not change its position; so no connection with polar axis, lattitude, north-south direction, or any kind of seasonal ajustment.
7. All construction members are straight, and nothing is to be bent in parabolic shape.
8. No complicated geometrical calculations or mathematics is involved at any stage.
9. Reflectors molds are focused only by eye sight, and final reflectors are fixed by eye on the machien.
10. Any agile person with only primary education can copy and manufacture entire solar concentrator.
11. Focal point is 2 meters, vertically above the centre of the structure; however, the focal length can be arbitrarilly fixed as per requirements.
12. It is idealy suitable to generate steam at focal point and using at ground level by pipe line, for cooking or any industrial application.
13. The structure is very much light weight structure having total weight of 150 Kg, including 100 reflectors.
14. The temperature at focal point is expected to be at least 1000 degrees C (Apollo of 49 reflectors reaches 900 degrees C.
15. I am optimistic to get power of 6 thermal Kilowatts (Apollo of 49 reflectors provides 3 Kilowatts).
The idea is to produce steam.
