We lifted off from Paris as four, destination Bamako. The voyage unraveled well despite two hours of delay in Pairs, 7 hours of waiting at Casablanca, and a prolonged stop at the boarder of Orly (for a supposedly hidden pistol in a hard disk) and a disappeared tent at Casablanca. Thus we arrived at Bamako around 2:30 in the morning and were pleasantly surprised to have been expected by Idrissa, member of the Dogon and Brothers association and president of PMU Mali. He drove us to our apartment in Bamako where we are lodged for the time of the construction of the Helios. We would first of all like to thank Idrissa and the enterprise PMU Mali for their warm welcome: airport, appartment (bottles of water, beer, coffee ...), lunch at a restaurant in the town centre (The Olympien: restaurant managed by a "toubab"), visit to a grocery strore PMU (it’s a real craze getting groceries here) and visit to the city heights in a car. All this in 51° C according to the car thermometer.
